Canvas Creations

In the past year I have discovered a real love for Distress Inks and Stamps, okay....maybe a slight obsession!!!  I really love to create on canvas, especially the small ones, they give a great opportunity to practice techniques, play with new products and colour schemes.  This small canvas is tiny, and it was the first time I'd used texture paste and I wanted a small area to try it out on.  I also used a set of Steampunk Dreams stamps from Sam Poole, which I'd bought at the Stamp & Scrapbooking
Show at Ally Pally in 2012.

This second canvas I made after buying the Art Houses and Art Flower stamps from Sam Poole  (can you tell I love her stamps?!) I used an old technique of clear heat embossing to give the houses a fabulous shine.  Once again I have used Distress Inks and have stamped the images several times to be able to layer them for maximum effect.   This is one of my favourites, the colours of inks are a combination of Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and my very favourite colour Peacock Feathers.

This canvas I made last weekend at a 12 hour crop.  I borrowed these gorgeous PaperArtsy Jofy stamps from my lovely friend Tina, and thought I'd mix my colour combination up this time!  I just love the bright colours and fun style of these stamps.  I think I may have to purchase some of these soon!

Welcome!

I've decided to get back into the world of blogging, not to share classes I am teaching, but to share some of the fun projects that I craft for myself.  Although I am a scrapbook teacher, I love to create mixed media projects and cards using stamps, paint, distress inks and stains.

I also love photography and I hope to share a few of my photos too.  I hope you'll join me along the way, as I share my love of crafts with you.

I'll start off my new blog with a couple of mixed media projects I have created in the past few months.  The first one is a canvas that I made for my mum on mothers day, its a combination of texture paste through a mask and lots of acrylic paints and mists.

This is a letter "H" that I made for my daughter, using tissue paper, mists, stamping and mod podge.  This was the first time I'd used mod podge, or created a project of this kind.   I now have an "S" ready to make for myself!!
